Membership News

The Numbers

This issue was mailed to 426 addresses, which is a bit less than our record of 500 a few years back, but still a very good number. Most people join at the Life level (92) followed by Individual (81), Supporting (69), Family (53), and Sustaining (23). The rest of the issues go to our 16 Business and School Partners, to other libraries, and to groups interested in library activities.

Please consider upgrading to a higher level when you renew later this year.

New & Returning Members

Eight members joined as a result of the recent two-day book sale—with the help of Shirley Hirschfeld, who took my place at the Membership check-in table on Friday evening. Thanks, Shirley!

We extend a big welcome to them and all the rest who joined after the last newsletter was published.  Combined and in alphabetical order they are:

Jacqueline Bell
Alan & Dorothy Berntson
Jacqueline Doherty
Marion Green

Lila Klausner
Peggy Lybrand
Susan Morris
Christine Mullins

Grace Schellert
David Schonberger
The Wedemeyer Family

A sincere thank you goes to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran School for returning as a School Partner after a short hiatus. Please look for their new ad in this issue.

We also welcome back Bruce Bobrowicz, Charles Roberts, and Todd Spence, who rejoined after an absence of a year of so.

Each of our members can be justly proud to belong to our Friends group. It is among the largest and most active of all the Friends of Los Angeles branch library groups.

Ruth Bromund, Membership VP

Be a Friend!

Memberships in the Friends of the Platt Library are win-win relationships. Besides providing additional funding for our library, they also give opportunities for new friendships, socializing, and volunteering—as well as community recognition for your support of a worthy cause. If that's not enough incentive, you also get a printed copy of this newsletter in the mail…what an excellent investment!

To become a member, give a membership as a gift, or renew your existing membership, just fill out the form below and click the ‘PRINT’ button. Write a check payable to Friends of the Platt Library and send it along with the printed form to:

Friends of the Platt Library
23600 Victory Boulevard
Woodland Hills, CA 91367

...or bring them to the library in person. Thank you!
