Another Productive Book Sale!

Our June Book Sale receipts topped June 2002’s, which set a record in its time. Also, the Friends Bookstore, manned by our many volunteers throughout the summer, maintained a brisk business. Thanks to all who are always willing to help in the Bookstore and at Book Sales—old-timers and new-timers alike!

Assisting at the June Book Sale were Darcy & Pat Backes, Millie & Ed Berger, Pam Bieber, Ruth & Warren Bromund, Elaine Corman, Adam Cristo, Brian Crossland, Frona & Stan DeCovnick, Muriel & Sid Eiduson, Vivian Estabrook, Faye Faraldo, Ken Fermoyle, Jesse Goldbaum, Debbie Grys, Ellie & Terry Haney, JoAnn Hilston, Darlene Jackson, Pearl Kalechstein, Paul Kennedy, Leatha King, Ellen Marshall, Mary McKoy, Ruth Mehlworm, CeCe Mestman, Charlene Montante, Eileen O'Neill, Mary Ann Ostrom, Nancy & John Reeve, Peggy Richman, Paula Russo, Eileen Schafer, Don Schuster, Sharon & Shel Schuster, Harriet Strauss, Lyall Thompson, Kathy Van Olinda, Michele Watts, Nina Wilson, and Margaret Young. Not only did these dedicated souls manage to stay ahead of a huge crowd; they set a record for post sale clean up.

Shel Schuster, Millie Berger, Warren Bromund, Frona & Stan DeCovnick, and John Reeve spent many, many extra hours sorting the flood of wonderful donations. And the books keep pouring in. Maybe the reopening of Valley branches won't affect our main fundraising source as much as we anticipated. Let us know if you want to contribute your time in the Bookstore or at Book Sales.

Also—due to library cutbacks—Senior Librarian Jan Metzler would appreciate as much help shelving books in the library as you can manage. Contact Elaine Corman.
