Our new membership year is off to a great start. We sent a record number of newsletters this time, almost 480. As of July 19, there already were 268 addresses on our list for the new membership year, including 40 brand new members and 8 who rejoined after a lapse of a few years. I will give you the exact breakdown in the next issue.
A special thank you and welcome to new Life members Lawrence & Barbara Hoke and to all the other new members who joined after May 9:
Dale C. Bisharat Joyce M. Caplan Douglas
& Colleen Carter Laney Clevenger Susan Curry Norma McComas Daughenbaugh Dorothy East Kelli Lee |
Jane Leisure Carol Lewis John
McKeever Mary McKoy James L. Orenstein Dawn Pinter Gladys Root Len & Toby Unger |
Thank you so much, all of you who have renewed for this new year. For those who have not rejoined, however, this issue was a bonus. Next time, only current members will get the printed newsletter or be admitted to the October pre-sale.
We need and appreciate all of you, no matter how much or little you send. The more, the better, though, so think about renewing at a higher level than last year. Life and Sustaining members will have a nameplate put in a beautiful, expensive book that the library could not otherwise afford. Plus, your membership dues and other contributions are tax deductible and may be matched by your employer.

Memberships in the Friends of the Platt Library are win-win relationships. Besides providing additional funding for our library, they also give opportunities for new friendships, socializing, and volunteering—as well as community recognition for your support of a worthy cause. If that's not enough incentive, you also get a printed copy of this newsletter in the mail…what an excellent investment!
