Fundraising News

I would like to introduce myself to all our "Friends." My name is Mary Ann Ostrom. I'm new to the Board. I'll be working as Vice President in charge of Fundraising.

For the past 20 years, I've been an Export Manager at Litton Aero Products. Although I've been active in several organizations, this cause is something close to my heart, and I've found that the people involved in this library association are exceptionally dedicated and nice. Unfortunately, I have more enthusiasm than experience in the area of fundraising. Any and all suggestions will be welcome. If you want to contact me, you can leave a note for me at the library office, or e-mail me.

We still have good programs in place, thanks to the excellent job that Teri Hagadorn Temme did this past year. If you're currently participating in the eScript program, please continue. If you're not, please start. And for real bargains in used books, don't forget our Bookstore.

The book sales last year were an outstanding success, thanks to the efforts of Shel Schuster and all the hardworking volunteers. The first one this year is fast approaching. Be sure to mark your calendars for September 7 (the Friends' pre-sale) and September 8.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Mary Ann Ostrom

My thanks to Friends of Platt Library and members of the community. Your generous donations of money and volunteer time are truly wonderful. In addition to direct cash donations and membership fees, the huge volume of community-donated used books are most helpful. Books are either channeled directly onto library shelves or are resold through the Friends Bookstore and sales, providing even more additional purchases. Your thoughtfulness and consideration for Platt Branch shows in your gracious support. Thank you!
