Fundraising News

The 2007 Children's Holiday Boutique took in a total of $508.80, with only $158.60 materials expense. This left $350 for a donation to a local charity. (Traditionally, the Friends have passed along all profits derived from elves' labor and young patrons' largess to organizations that work with at-risk children in the Valley.) After reviewing current options, the Friends Board selected the San Fernando Valley Child & Family Guidance Center as the 2007 recipient. More on this next issue.

Entertainment Book Report

At the close of the Entertainment Book 2007 selling season, the Friends had sold 64 books, which garnered $257 in additional funds for our library's materials, programs, and improvements. Chairperson Ethel Margolin sends her deepest thanks to the Bookstore volunteers who sold the Entertainment Books and to the patrons who purchased them. In turn, the Friends thank Ethel, who did the lion's share of the work organizing, selling, and promoting the project.
