L. to r., from center: Sharon Schuster, Susan Casmier and Shel Schuster assist a visitor.
In October, we again participated in the West Hills Fall Fest, held in the Field's Market parking lot. It was a terribly windy day. The posters and flyers advertising all Library and Friends events for the next few months kept trying to blow away. We managed to save most of the flyers and distributed them to those who visited our booth. We also had stickers and balloons for the kids.
Bookstore Manager Shel Schuster brought lots of books from the Bookstore. He and the other volunteers sold $104 worth, thus covering our fee for the booth. Thanks, Shel!
Adult Literacy Coordinator Susan Casmier joined us for several hours to promote Platt's Literacy Center. Many thanks to her and to Senior Librarian Lynn Light and the other librarians for giving us their materials, to Carol Roseman for Friends' program flyers, and to the volunteers who manned the booth in two-hour shifts: Millie Berger, Pam Bieber, Lynn Durbin, Nancy Reeve, Sharon Schuster, Harriet Strauss, and Sue Strickland.
Warren Bromund, Millie, and Shel also helped me set up everything before opening time. Thanks, guys!
Volunteer Co-Coordinators Elaine Corman and
Harriet Strauss donated their space to “event” volunteers.
They'll be back with more Bookstore news next issue.
