We were deeply saddened
by the sudden passing of Alex Wagner
on May 21, 2006.

A Friends volunteer for many years, Alex loved working in the Bookstore. Even through bouts with leukemia, he looked forward to chatting with patrons, helping them find just what they wanted, and he was on the job the week before he died at age 82. Born in Hungary, Alex was 14 when he immigrated to the United States. He became an electrical engineer after attending New York City College, where he met Selma, his wife of 55 years. All who looked forward to seeing Alex on Monday afternoons will miss his warm and gentle personality.

The Friends of the Platt Library extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife and family.
