IT'S TIME!

Yes, once again it's time to renew your annual membership with Friends of the Platt Library. The membership year runs from July 1 through June 30. Your support is vitally important to help us maintain our goals: providing the library with funds for book and materials purchases and supporting programs for the community.

The easiest way to send in your renewal is to use the form at the bottom of this page. Your name and address will be on the reverse side. You only need to complete the form if there are changes in your mailing information, or if you would like to change the level of your membership. By renewing in this manner, you save the Friends the ever-increasing costs of sending out renewal letters. It also saves volunteer time in preparing the mailings.

WELCOMES

We'd like to welcome new Life members Sarah & Ronald McKay and to welcome back Flo Weber and Ken Larson, who are returning as members after being gone for a while…with an equally warm welcome to our newest members:

Mike & Cindy Duittman
The Stark Family

Patricia Miller
Rose Turovitz

(These memberships are paid through June 30 of 2007)

Also, heartfelt thanks go to our very alert members who anticipated the renewal date coming up and have already sent in their membership for the coming year. You are really on the ball.

Membership Perk Reminder

All members are eligible for occasional “Shel says” discounts in the Friends Bookstore. This newsletter contains an artfully hidden Friends Members’ Bookstore Discount coupon—this time good for a straight 50% off your total purchase any one day in June, July, or August. Be sure to look for it, clip it, and use it for something special. (For instance: What about using books for novel summer party favors? ½ off $1 hardcovers, 50¢ paperbacks, or 25 – 50¢ children's books certainly beats The Dollar Store. Or treat yourself to a barely read reference set or hard-to-find collection. These come in fairly often; although, they're snapped up just as quickly by Bookstore regulars.)

A Warm Adieu

My term as Membership Chair will end in July. The job will return to the able hands of former Chair, Ruth Bromund. So in this, my final Membership article, I'd like to offer my personal appreciation for the support and thoughtfulness of all members. Your generosity both of funds and of spirit is what makes the Friends of Platt Library the fine organization that it is. It's been a pleasure to personally talk with and get to know you—the heart of Friends of Platt Library.

Millie Berger, Membership VP

Be a Friend!

Memberships in the Friends of the Platt Library are win-win relationships. Besides providing additional funding for our library, they also give opportunities for new friendships, socializing, and volunteering—as well as community recognition for your support of a worthy cause. If that's not enough incentive, you also get a printed copy of this newsletter in the mail…what an excellent investment!

To become a member, give a membership as a gift, or renew your existing membership, just fill out the form below and click the ‘PRINT’ button. Write a check payable to Friends of the Platt Library and send it along with the printed form to:

Friends of the Platt Library
23600 Victory Boulevard
Woodland Hills, CA 91367

...or bring them to the library in person. Thank you!
