This is the issue in which we publish the names of our Life and Sustaining Members. It is our way of honoring them for the higher levels of membership support and indeed we do appreciate them. Before too long, these members will be receiving individual letters advising them of the titles of books donated to the library in their honor.
But I'd also like to take this issue to thank ALL members. It is gratifying to see individuals, families, and businesses renew their membership year after year. There are many, many members who have renewed faithfully for 11 years now. This truly speaks of their commitment to support Platt Branch and the Friends of Platt Library. The caring support of members and the community at large have provided the Friends with funds necessary to secure both materials for the library and the capital improvements sought by the staff. So, thank you to every member of every level. You are an amazing group.
Membership Update
Please also help me welcome into our family of friends Jack Li, who is returning after a hiatus, and each of the following new members:
Roxanne Adams |
Wendy Guerin |
Due to the necessity of canceling our Super Used Book Sales, Friends members will find a Bookstore Discount coupon in this newsletter. This members-only discount is good for up to 50% savings on one purchase (of as many books as you want) within April, May, or June. Plus, in the Friends Bookstore, books are much easier to browse. Only original coupons will be accepted, so be sure to clip yours out and save it for a book-shopping spree.
P. S. Just a reminder: If you are moving, it would help if you drop me a note or return the mailing address side of the newsletter with your new address noted. We do have a return service request with the post office, but that does not advise us of any address change until after at least one newsletter can't be delivered. The result is that you may miss future discounts or news of a library event in time to attend. The sooner we have your new address, the more assurance you will have of receiving all newsletters promptly.
Memberships in the Friends of the Platt Library are win-win relationships. Besides providing additional funding for our library, they also give opportunities for new friendships, socializing, and volunteering—as well as community recognition for your support of a worthy cause. If that's not enough incentive, you also get a printed copy of this newsletter in the mail…what an excellent investment!

In Appreciation of Our Life & Sustaining Members
“Thank you for your continued support” doesn't begin to express our deep appreciation for the moral, financial, and (in so many cases) hands-on assistance these individuals have lavished on Platt Library and Friends of The Platt Library over the years. Friends of The Platt Library Board | |||
