Philip and Myrna Binderman have upgraded their membership to Life level. We sincerely thank them. Letters were sent out in late May to all 2004-2005 Life and Sustaining members advising them of the titles of books that were selected in their honor to add to the Platt Branch collection. Many members responded with requests and positive comments. These were forwarded to the library staff. Your support at these levels is greatly appreciated.
Renewal ReminderMany, many members renewed promptly, and we thank them. It saves hours of volunteer time and sizable mailing expense when renewal reminder letters do not have to be sent. The Friends organization is able to direct those additional assets toward book purchases and other library necessities.
Those of you who have not yet renewed will find a notice on the outside cover of this newsletter that says “Membership Expired”. The next Book Sale will be held on August 20. The Members Preview will be on Friday evening, August 19. This will be the last member preview you can attend without membership renewal. Don't miss out on great savings on future book purchases or our outstanding newsletter in the coming months. Mail your membership prior to the sale, or plan to renew the night of August 19. I'll be there to help.
Memberships in the Friends of the Platt Library are win-win relationships. Besides providing additional funding for our library, they also give opportunities for new friendships, socializing, and volunteering—as well as community recognition for your support of a worthy cause. If that's not enough incentive, you also get a printed copy of this newsletter in the mail…what an excellent investment!
