A final tally has been made of the recent Entertainment Book fundraiser. We are pleased to report that a total of ninety-seven books were sold, resulting in earnings just shy of $400. These funds go to the direct benefit of Platt Branch and are especially valuable in this year of declining budget monies. The success of the activity is due in great part to Ethel Margolin, who assumes the very large responsibility of ordering the books (both the regular books and special orders) and monitoring the overall organization of the project. Our sincere thanks to her, to the volunteers who sell the books through the Friends Bookstore, and of course, to all of you who purchase the books, thereby making a donation to support our fine library.

Books for Canoga Park KidsFollowing the Board's decision to donate proceeds of last year's Children's Holiday Boutique to the Canoga Park Elementary School Library, a check for $200 was presented to the school's Head Librarian, Mrs. Grace R. Hernandez (left), seen here with Assistant Librarian, Mrs. Susana Apaez. |
