A New Year Reminder

Many companies encourage employees to give to charitable organizations by matching their gift giving. If you are the employee of such a company, your donation to Platt Branch will double in value. Although we always welcome special donations, your annual membership dues also qualify for matching funds. Boeing, Sempra Energy, and Universal Studios are some of the local employers that participate in this kind of program. The company will provide you with a form that you send to us with you dues or contribution. We take care of the rest.

Members & Volunteerism

A great many of you volunteer to help the Friends and Platt Library when you send in your membership. One of my jobs as Membership Chair is to forward these offers of assistance to the Friends Volunteer Coordinator, Elaine Corman, or to the appropriate library staff member. I am continually impressed with your willingness to help. The bookstore could not exist, book sales couldn't happen, and the library staff couldn't receive the help they need without such generous gifts of volunteer time. In this issue, we salute you, the unsung heroes that make things happen. I'd like to add my personal thanks. Because of my role in dealing with so many of you through membership activity, I am in a unique position to see the quantity of good will that you lavish on our fine library. My hat is off to you all.

Be a Friend!

Memberships in the Friends of the Platt Library are win-win relationships. Besides providing additional funding for our library, they also give opportunities for new friendships, socializing, and volunteering—as well as community recognition for your support of a worthy cause. If that's not enough incentive, you also get a printed copy of this newsletter in the mail…what an excellent investment!

To become a member, give a membership as a gift, or renew your existing membership, just fill out the form below and click the ‘PRINT’ button. Write a check payable to Friends of the Platt Library and send it along with the printed form to:

Friends of the Platt Library
23600 Victory Boulevard
Woodland Hills, CA 91367

...or bring them to the library in person. Thank you!
