Hi, Friends! I'm back again! For those who don't know me, my name is Mary Ann Ostrom, and I'll be assuming the fund raising duties this year.
We owe a big debt of gratitude to the retiring Fundraising Chairman, Lyall Thompson, who is leaving the board due to plans to leave the area. Lyall did a fantastic job with the annual Children's Holiday Boutique last December, providing terrific gifts for the kids to buy…and raising a record amount of money! We will truly miss her.
Speaking of the Holiday Boutique, we're already planning for this year's event and have selected December 4th as the date. Be sure to mark your calendars. We'll need lots of volunteer “crafters” as well as anyone who wants to gain some craft experience. If you're interested, please contact me as soon as possible. I'm hoping to get an early start this year and have scheduled a planning session in September and four craft sessions thereafter—all in the Multipurpose Room.
Future Events: After last summer's Metro Art Tour, several people expressed an interest in a docent-led tour of the Central downtown library. I'm currently investigating the possibility and will be communicating news about that and other fundraising events in future Newsletters.
